Without question, the Content Quake Player Of The Game for Week 5 has to be Antoine Winfield. The Vikings corner played amazingly well on coverage, blitzes, and field goal coverage.
His heads up play to return a blocked field goal for a touchdown early in the game changed the momentum, and possibly saved the Vikings from facing an ugly blowout. He pumped up the defense, and from that point on they began playing much better.
His sack-turned-forced-fumble AND recovery of that fumble provided the Vikings with another scoring chance while taking the wind out of the sails of Drew Brees.
With those two plays alone, Winfield very well could be the man responsible for the Vikings win over the Saints. Comments |
