Sorry this is a little late, but I just got home from a weekend trip.
Jared Allen was fined $50,000 for a low hit on Matt Shuab. I have to say, this is a pile of garbage.
It was a hit that the referee on the field didn’t see as a cheap shot, and from the sounds of it, Shuab was talking nicely with Allen after the game as well. Kubiak complained, though, and in my opinion, the NFL remembered that Allen made a comment last week about fines getting out of hand, and they punished him for it.
I know the NFL has to protect people, but it almost seems like they’re trying to take any fire and any competitive spirit and suck it dry from their players.
I agree with Jared Allen… it’s gotten out of hand.
Lighten up NFL, before you start driving some of your fans away.
