Around the NFL: Does the NFC North have the best quarterbacks?

I’ve seen this question pop up on several blogs and forums across the internet, so I thought I’d throw it out here:

Does the NFC North have the best foursome of starting quarterbacks in the league?

Let’s look at the starters.

NFC

NFC North:

Chicago Bears: Jay Cutler
Detroit Lions: Probably #1 draft pick Matt Stafford
Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers
Minnesota Vikings: Brett Favre

NFC East:

Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo
New York Giants: EliManning
Philadelphia Eagles: Donovan McNabb
Washington Redskins: Jason Campbell.

NFC West:

Arizona Cardinals: Kurt Warner
San Fransisco 49ers: Shaun Hill or Alex Smith
Seattle Seahawks: Matt Hasselbeck
St. Louis Rams: Marc Bulger

NFC South:

Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan
Carolina Panthers: Jake Delhomme
New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Byron Leftwich

AFC

AFC North:

Baltimore Ravens: Joe Flacco
Cincinnati Bengals: Carson Palmer,
Cleveland Browns: Brady Quinn
Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger

AFC East:

Buffalo Bills: Trent Edwards
Miami Dolphins: Chad Pennington
New England Patriots: Tom Brady
New York Jets: Mark Sanchez

AFC West:

Denver Broncos: Kyle Orton
Kansas City Chiefs: Matt Cassel
Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell
San Diego Chargers: Phillip Rivers

AFC South:

Houston Texans: Matt Schaub
Indianapolis Colts: Peyton Manning
Jacksonville Jaguards: David Garrard
Tennessee Titans: Kerry Collins

That’s really a tough call, but I’d have to say the NFC would have to be considered as the best QB division, now that Favre has joined the ranks.  Really, in my opinion, the only true competition would come from the NFC East.  Romo, McNabb, and Eli are all really good, and Campbell’s not bad himself.

What do you think?

DRAFT WEEK: Jason Campbell a Viking?

Through the course of draft day trades, will Jason Campbell, QB from the Washington Redskins be traded to the Minnesota Vikings?!?

Jason Campbell

One writer at Bleacher Report thinks so. (Read his article HERE)

One thing you have to keep in mind about Bleacher Report, it is a site where fans can go and write articles whenever they want about any sports topic they want. Don’t get me wrong… I love the site. It’s a great way to read opinions (many of them well thought out) from fellow fans. I just wanted to warn you that most of what you read on that site is speculation.

Anyway, back to the article at hand. Do I think it could happen? Well, anything can happen. it’s the NFL, after all! But I doubt it. I could see the Redskins wanting Mark Sanchez, but for some reason I really doubt Campbell would end up as a Viking.

But let’s just brush aside probability for a moment. Would I like it?

Probably.

Although Jason Campbell has not been terribly successful thus far in the NFL, he has played in waaaaay too many different systems with way too much of a shifting of talent. I think he’s a decent QB, and he’d be an upgrade over Jackson or Rosenfels, but what to the Vikings have to offer the Redskins for a player like Campbell? Not much that I’d want to lose.

But again… stranger things have happened.
